Christ at Christmas

At this time of year, it’s not hard to find reminders of the Christmas story. Most people have at least a basic understanding of the story, even if they have never set foot inside a church. But there’s a lot of hidden complexity. In this subject we’ll look at the gospels of Matthew and Luke. Each of them tells a different story about Jesus’ birth. We’ll consider why the Bible has these two different versions of events, and what Matthew and Luke were trying to say about who Jesus is and what he came to do. We’ll uncover how these two different ways of telling the Christmas story spoke to different groups of early Christians, and how the Christmas stories still speak today.
